Privacy Policy

What personal data storeeditai.com and StoreEdit AI Pro collect, why, who processes it, how long it is kept, and your rights.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

1. Who we are

Internet Wizard Ltd (“we”, “us”) runs storeeditai.com and sells StoreEdit AI Pro. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

2. The short version

  • When you buy, we keep what is needed to sell, invoice and support you: your name, email, billing address and order.
  • Your card details go to Stripe or PayPal, never to us.
  • The plugin sends us your licence key, your site’s address and the Pro version, nothing else. Your products, customers and orders never reach us.
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. What we collect

3.1 When you buy

  • Name, email address, billing address and country, as you give them at checkout.
  • Your order and subscription: plan, price, dates, payment status.
  • Payment: handled by Stripe or PayPal. We receive a confirmation and, for cards, the type and last four digits. We never see or store the full card number.

3.2 Your licence

  • Your licence key, the account it belongs to, its plan and state.
  • The address of each site where you enter the key, the StoreEdit AI Pro version it runs, and when it last checked in.

3.3 What the plugin sends

StoreEdit AI Pro contacts our licence server to activate your key, about once a day to check it, and to fetch updates. Each time it sends the licence key, the site’s address and the Pro version. The answers it gets contain no personal data.

StoreEdit AI, the free plugin, sends nothing to us.

Neither plugin sends us your products, customers, orders or any content of your shop. When you connect an AI assistant, that assistant reads products from your shop and sends what it reads to its own provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI), under that provider’s terms and privacy policy. We are not part of that exchange. When your assistant proposes a product image, your own shop fetches it from the address the assistant gives; that request does not go through us.

3.4 When you write to us

Your email and what you tell us, to answer you.

3.5 When you visit the website

Our hosting server records basic request information (IP address, time, page, browser) for security. We do not use analytics or advertising tools. Cookies are described in our Cookies Policy.

4. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

PurposeLegal basis (UK GDPR and EU GDPR)
Selling you a subscription, delivering your licence key, renewals, updates and supportPerforming our contract with you
Checking that a key is used within its planPerforming our contract, and our legitimate interest in preventing misuse
Invoices and accounting recordsLegal obligation
Keeping the website and licence server secureLegitimate interest
Transactional emails: order, licence key, renewal reminders, failed paymentsPerforming our contract

We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked for them, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

5. Who processes it for us

  • Stripe and PayPal, to take payments, under their own privacy policies.
  • Our hosting provider, which hosts this website, the shop and the licence server.
  • Email delivery through our hosting provider, for transactional emails.

Some of these providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised by UK and EU law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data for marketing.

6. Security

  • Everything is sent over HTTPS.
  • Every answer from our licence server is signed, so a site can tell it is genuine.
  • Card details never reach our servers.
  • Access to customer and licence records is limited to the people who need it to run the Service.

7. How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in the United Kingdom is six years.
  • Your account and licence: while your subscription exists, and for up to two years after it ends, so that a customer who comes back keeps their licence history. You can ask us to delete them sooner, except what we must keep with your orders.
  • Sites a key was used on: removed when you free the seat, or with the licence.
  • Server logs: as long as our hosting provider keeps them for security.
  • Support emails: for as long as needed to help you.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to receive it in a portable format, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Some rights are limited where we must keep data by law (for example invoices).

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within one month.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or, if you live in the European Union, to the data protection authority of your country.

9. Children

The Service is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. If a change matters for how we use your data, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the website. The date at the top shows the latest version.

11. Contact

For anything about your data: [email protected], or by post at the address in section 1.
